On May 10, 2023, Prague Philharmonia signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with the International Chamber Music Festival Konvergencie, based in Slovakia, which organizes a composition competition for Czech and Slovak composers under 35 as part of its activities. One of the main prizes for the competition laureates was the opportunity to have their winning composition performed in Prague Philharmonia's contemporary music series during the 2024/2025 concert season.
We will welcome four young talents to the program with their winning compositions, which had to consider the competition's brief: "Write us a quartet!" We can thus look forward to four quartets in their Czech premiere by authors of the current young generation of Slovak composers, laureates of the International Festival Konvergencie 2023 composition competition: Adam Štefunko (1st place), Marek Fóra (2nd place), Šimon Lučenič and Juraj Gažmerčík (shared 3rd and 4th place).
