The Canadian Sarah McElravy plays both the violin and the viola. Alongside her solo career, which has included working with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the Moscow Soloists conducted by Yuri Bashmet and her very rewarding collaboration with the violinist and conductor Julian Rachlin, she is also a prominent chamber musician.
She has worked with Janine Jansen, Vilde Frang, Itamar Golan, Mischa Maisky and Daniel Müller-Schott. Her Linden String Quartet was successful at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and was awarded a residency at Yale University. Sarah McElravy has performed before audiences at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Vienna’s Musikverein and at prestigious festivals — the International Chamber Music Festival in Utrecht, La Folle Journée in Japan and the Turku Music Festival in Finland.
In 2014 she founded the Chamber Music Society Mexico, which in addition to concerts also organizes educational programmes of talented young Mexican musicians.
