The opening concert of the 24th annual Mahler Jihlava 2025 festival, themed "Symphony of a Thousand," will take place on the Grand Stage of the Horácké Theatre in Jihlava.
The program will feature popular works by Viennese classical masters Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven, alongside a song cycle by Gustav Mahler.
Five songs based on texts by Friedrich Rückert will be performed at this celebratory opening concert by Andrea Kalivodová, accompanied by the internationally renowned Prague Philharmonia. This orchestra was founded by the conductor Jiří Bělohlávek. Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, the "Fate Symphony," and all other works on the opening concert's program will be conducted by Marek Štilec.
