Singer Jan Smigmator returns to the stage of Prague's Hybernia Theatre to premiere his new concert project SWINGPHONIC, which is a repertoire follow-up to his successful album of songs by George and Ira Gershwin and his debut concert at New York's Carnegie Hall.
In new elegant arrangements, he will sing, accompanied by a jazz quartet and the PKF — Prague Philharmonia's big strings, the famous songs from the Great American Songbook, the hits of his singing role models Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, as well as a number of his own original songs written by Jan Smigmator over the years together with pianist and composer Svatopluk F. Smola.
The jazz quartet will feature Jan Smigmator's long-time bandmates, pianist Vladimír Strnad, double bassist Jan Greifoner, drummer Marek Urbánek and tenor saxophonist Jan Kyncl.
The PKF — Prague Philharmonia's large strings will be led by conductor Stanislav Vavřínek and the special guest of the concert will be violin virtuoso Jan Talich.
