The Belfiato Quintet is one of the most successful young chamber ensembles both here and on the international scene. Its members are graduates of the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (class of Štěpán Koutník) and musicians in leading domestic orchestras (Prague Philharmonia, Czech Philharmonic, National Theatre Orchestra in Prague).
The ensemble performs regularly in the Czech Republic and abroad, appearing, for example, as part of the concert season of the Czech Society for Chamber Music or in the chamber cycles of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and Prague Philharmonia. With a repertoire composed of works by Czech authors, the ensemble has also presented itself in Katowice, Poland, Tokyo, and London.
The Belfiato Quintet is the holder of the 1st prize from the Antonín Rejcha competition at the festival in Semmering, Austria. In 2011, the ensemble won the 3rd prize at the International Wind Quintet Competition Henri Tomasi in Marseille, France, together with the prize for the best performance of a Tomasi composition. Belfiato Quintet released its debut CD titled Music for Wind Instruments in June 2017 (Supraphon).
