The Professed House

The Professed House, a historic Baroque building in Prague's Lesser Town, was originally built for the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) between 1674 and 1691. It houses a beautiful Baroque refectory, now used for chamber concerts.

Trio Incendio

Trio Incendio was founded in 2016 in Prague and firstly worked under the guidance of Martin Kasík and Ivo Kahánek, professors of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. The trio has won several national and international competitions like Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award in Lugano, Coop Music Awards in Cremona, Concorso Musicale “Marcello Pontillo” in Firenze, Kiejstut Bacewicz Competition in Lodz, Concorso “Massimiliano Antonelli” in Latina or Bohuslav Martinů Competition in Prague, where they also gained the Special Prize for the best interpretation of the work by Martinů.    

Trio Incendio participates regularly in the International Summer Academy in Reichenau organized by the University of Music in Vienna, where it works with members of the Artis Quartett, Hatto Beyerle, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Patrick Jüdt, Vida Vujic, and others. At the academy, they were awarded the Wiener Klassik Prize, Bohuslav Martinů Prize, and Chamber Music Prize.

The trio is a member ensemble of the European Chamber Music Academy, which offers to young ensembles the possibility of working regularly with distinguished artists and professors. In 2019, Trio Incendio was also invited to join the Le Dimore Del Quartetto organization and took part in a masterclass with Alfred Brendel in Rudolfinum, organized by the Prague Music Performance.  

Trio Incendio performs both in the Czech Republic and abroad. They have played in some of the most important European venues such as Philharmonie Berlin, Wigmore Hall or Rudolfinum in Prague and festivals like Ticino Musica and in the chamber music season of the Prague Spring Festival. Their concerts are appreciated for the passion, stylistic clarity and the beauty of sound. 

Eva Garajová — mezzo-soprano

The mezzo-soprano Eva Garajová studied at the Bratislava Conservatoire (Ružena Illenbergerová) and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (Hana Štolfová-Bandová). Her further studies took place in Osimo (Accademia d’arte lirica – Mario Melani), in Buffalo (Gary Burgess) and in masterclasses with Enzo Ferrari, Julia Hamari, and Christa Ludwig. 

During her residencies abroad she sung in the title role of Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia and in Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica with the Greater Buffalo Opera Company. Already during her studies at the Academy, she joined the Bratislava Chamber Opera and in 1995 debuted as Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin in Banská Bystrica.

In the same year she began her collaboration with the State Opera in Prague, where she has appeared in more than twenty major operas, including Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, Rossini’s II Turco in Italia, Bizet’s Carmen, Boito’s Nerone, Ponchielli’s La Gioconda, and Janáček’s Káťa Kabanová. In 2000 she won the prestigious Masaryk Academy Prize and the Gustav Mahler EU Prize.

In 2006 she appeared as a guest in José Carrera’s Bratislava gala concert performing Spanish and Italian songs.  She took part in the film recordings of Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen (Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, conducted by Kent Nagano) and the same opera’s recording for the BBC in collaboration with CT Brno (2002–2004). With the Brno Philharmonic and Sir Charles Mackerras and again at the 2007 Prague Spring with the Prague Symphony Orchestra she sang in Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass. She makes regular appearances with top symphonic and chamber orchestras, especially with the Slovak Philharmonic (Beethoven, Liszt – Missa solemnis; Mozart, Verdi – Requiem; Dvořák, Rossini – Stabat Mater; Berlioz – La Mort de Cléopatre) and the State Chamber Orchestra Žilina.

Václav Fürbach — bassoon

Václav Fürbach is at present the first bassoonist of the PKF — Prague Philharmonia and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that he occupied the same position in the Brno Philharmonic and the Czech Army Central Band. He originally started with the clarinet and the accordion. He first began studying the bassoon at the Military Conservatory in Roudnice and Labem (Miroslav Loučka) and subsequently at the Prague Conservatory (Michael Verner) and the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under František Herman and Jiří Seidl. Alongside playing in orchestras he also devotes himself to chamber music and is a member of the Prague Philharmonia Wind Quintet and the ensemble Juventus Collegium FOK.
