Standing Ovation for Sophie Dervaux and Tomáš Františ
The Prague Philharmonia's Lobkowicz series recently featured a remarkable performance by Sophie Dervaux, principal bassoonist of the Vienna Philharmonic.
The evening opened with Václav Neukirchner's Concerto for Two Bassoons, a piece recently discovered in the Prague Conservatory archives, which saw Dervaux joined by bassoonist Tomáš Františ. The highlight of the night was Mozart's Bassoon Concerto, followed by his Symphony No. 39, both conducted by Dervaux herself.
Enthusiastic audience rewarded both soloists and orchestra with a standing ovation. Thank you for attending!
Special thanks to Institut français de Prague and French Embassy in Czech Republic for their support.
