Pene Pati returns to Prague
Prepare to be captivated once again by the stunning voice of New Zealand tenor, Pene Pati. After leaving audiences spellbound with his concert in January 2023, he's set to return for another special performance on March 22, 2024.
Remembered by critics as a "discovery" thanks to his "authentic bel canto" style and "once-in-a-generation" voice, Pene Pati has already established himself as a rising star abroad. Often dubbed the "Samoan Pavarotti," he's captivating audiences with his mastery of the bel canto technique and a voice hailed as "born every few decades."
But Pene's magic extends beyond his vocal prowess. His infectious enthusiasm and sunny disposition instantly connect him with audiences, creating a truly unforgettable experience. The last day of January 2023 became a night to remember at Prague's Rudolfinum, and now, we have the chance to relive it!
But that's not all! Over the next three months, Prague will be blessed with the voices of three exceptional tenors gracing the musical stage: Pene Pati, Jonathan Tetelman, and Jonas Kaufmann.
Pene's recent engagements include the Paris National Opera (Nemorino, Love Potion), Vienna State Opera (Percy, Anna Bolena), Berlin State Opera (Alfredo, La Traviata, and Mitridate, Mitridate, re di Ponto), San Diego Opera (Romeo, Romeo and Juliet), Aix-en-Provence Festival (Amenophis, Moise et Pharaon), Monte Carlo Opera (Faust, Faust's Damnation), and Gran Teatre del Liceu (Des Grieux, Manon).
His 2023/24 season kicks off with Rodolfo (La Bohème) in Toronto in October, followed by appearances at San Francisco Opera (Nemorino, Love Potion), Deutsche Oper Berlin (Alfredo, La Traviata), Paris National Opera (Orombello, Beatrice di Tenda), Hamburg State Opera (Des Grieux, Manon), Berlin State Opera (Duke of Mantua, Rigoletto), and more.
Despite this packed schedule, we were fortunate to secure a date for him in Prague. And trust us, Pene himself can't wait to return!
March 2022 saw the release of Pene's highly acclaimed debut album featuring Italian and French arias, recorded with the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine under the baton of Emmanuel Villaume (Warner Classics label). "I hope it evokes feelings of warmth, tenderness, and sincerity of those stories," shared the charming artist. "That's the essence of opera for me, the reason I sing."
His second Prague concert will once again showcase a selection of captivating operatic arias, including some from his highly anticipated second album, currently underway with Warner Classics.
