Orchestral series in short
We were able to define a main “fil rouge” around French music and, more specifically, its cross-pollination with Germanic music over the centuries. Our A9 concert, for example, illustrates the interplays between the French and Germanic schools: Debussy was influenced by Wagner, who was influenced by Berlioz, who was influenced by Gluck, who was influenced by Rameau, who was ultimately influenced by Bach and Couperin – the latter of whom interacted. This back and forth is emphasized going back in time up to Bach, re-interpreted here by a twentieth-century musician to close the cycle.
