Pianist Filip Martinka is a student of the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of doc. Martin Kasík. In 2022 he studied with Sergei Edelmann at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp as part of the Erasmus project.
As a soloist he played with several major Czech orchestras. In 2018, he played Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto in C minor with the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, and in the same year also Grieg's Concerto with the West Bohemian Orchestra. In 2022 he performed Beethoven's 3rd Piano Concerto with the PKF — Prague Philharmonia. Last year he took the solo part in the Kalabis Piano Concerto accompanied by the NeoKlasik Orchestra.
Among his greatest competitive achievements are 1st place at the Czech Conservatory Competition (2016), 1st place at the Broumovská klávesa Competition (2016) and the title of laureate of the Prague Conservatory Young Piano Competition (2018).
In addition to solo playing, Filip also plays chamber music. Together with the cellist Jakub Gráf, he won the laureate title and the EMCY prize at the international competition of the Czech Radio Concertino Praga (2018). He also collaborates with other performers or, for example, with the Lieder Society.
