Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's piano concertos are a showcase of this genre and piano compositions in general. Mozart, himself a piano virtuoso, understood keyboard instruments perfectly, and was therefore able to fully utilize the potential of the piano’s predecessors — such as the harpsichord and fortepiano.
The Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in E flat major No. 14 is considered Mozart's first mature concerto. The work, full of classical elegance, was dedicated by the composer to his student, Miss Ployer. Only one year later, in 1785, he composed perhaps his most famous piano concerto — Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 20 in D minor.
Although the creation of the two concertos is separated by just one year, the change in the composer's style is truly striking: in the dark Concerto in D minor the pure Viennese Classicism alternates with the anticipations of the upcoming more emotional Romanticism.
Two compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be complemented by the work of the young Canadian conductor and composer, Samy Moussa, a successful artist whose works have been performed by the Vienna Philharmonic, as well as by the legendary contemporary music ensemble, Ensemble intercontemporain.
Elegance and refinement: these are just some of the many qualities highly appreciated in Andrew von Oeyen's piano playing. He regularly performs as a soloist with leading world orchestras, such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony and the New Japan Philharmonic. For his most recent recording from 2021 for the Warner Classics label, he chose works by Bach and Beethoven. The Juilliard graduate, whose 2022-2023 season also includes concerts with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, is not an unknown soloist to our audience.
Andrew von Oeyen has already collaborated with the PKF — Prague Philharmonia in concerts, tours and recordings. At the first PKF — LOBKOWICZ subscription concert in 2023, however, Andrew will perform a less usual role: he will conduct directly from the piano.

The subscription covers all four concerts, a reserved seat in the hall and entry to all parts of the evening. The subscription is transferable.
