Kamila Moťková

Kamila Moťková began studying the oboe at the age of 14 at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava, in the oboe class of Jiří Židek. She subsequently continued her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under Jana Brožková. After completing a three-year bachelor’s degree and a two-year master’s degree, she continued with doctoral studies, which she completed after three years in 2015.

In 2011, she broadened her studies through a placement in Lyon with Jean-Louis Capezzali, Jérôme Guichard and Fabien Thouand.

During her studies, she participated in numerous competitions (ARD Munich, International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen, the Double Reed Instruments Competition in Łódź, among others) and attended numerous masterclasses with leading oboists, including R. Kilmer, O. Zoboli, Ch. Wetzel, J.-L. Capezzali, J. Guichard and N. A. King.

From 2009 to 2012, she was a member of the Prague Chamber Philharmonia, and from 2012 to 2014 she was a member of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestral Academy.

She is currently a member of Prague Philharmonia.

She also regularly collaborates with other Czech orchestras, including the Czech Philharmonic, Brno Philharmonic, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín, Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc, Pilsen Philharmonic, BERG Orchestra and Czech Sinfonietta, among others.

She has regularly collaborated with Gidon Kremer and the Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra.

She teaches at the Prague Conservatory and is a sought-after chamber musician. She is also actively involved in contemporary music, which formed a substantial part of her doctoral research. As part of her doctoral project, she recorded a CD featuring works by the Korean composer Isang Yun (1917–1995).
