Judita Škodová

Cellist Judita Škodová was born in Prague, where she studied at the music programme of the Jan Neruda Grammar School before continuing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of Miroslav Petráš. From an early age, she distinguished herself through numerous successes both on the concert stage and in competitions, including Prague Junior Note, the Heran Cello Competition, and the international Talents for Europe competition in Dolný Kubín. During her studies, she spent a year at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts of Southern Denmark in Odense, studying with Michaela Fukačová, and a further year at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Jérôme Pernoo.

She twice won auditions for the Prague Philharmonia Orchestral Academy and has been a permanent member of the orchestra since 2014. As a soloist, she has performed with a number of orchestras, including the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava and the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice, and has also frequently served as principal cellist.

She is a founding member of the Quasi Trio. In 2020, the ensemble successfully completed a master’s degree in chamber music at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague as well as postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The trio also studied at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris in the class of Trio Wanderer.
