The special concert dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven is also a memorial concert by the founding members of the Prague Philharmonia Orchestra to honor Jiří Bělohlávek, the 10th anniversary of whose death will be commemorated in 2027.
This special fifth concert of the Chamber Music Series will focus on Ludwig van Beethoven. His chamber music is very extensive and varied. The composer wrote it mostly in his youth and on commission. Such pieces include Quintet for Piano and Wind Instruments in E flat major and Trio for Two Oboes and English Horn in C major, which means that in addition to the main protagonists there will be important guests: pianist Prof. Ivan Klánský and Prague Philharmonia oboists Jan Souček and Lenka Filová, who will also play the English horn. The concert will be crowned by Octet in E flat major, op. 103 featuring other guests (Jindřich Pavliš, Tomáš Františ, Kateřina Javůrková), who will also play in remembrance of the Prague Philharmonia's founder, teacher and conductor Jiří Bělohlávek.
