Oto Reiprich graduated from the Prague Conservatory, where he studied with Roman Novotný, and from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of Radomír Pivoda. As part of the Erasmus programme, he spent a year at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna studying with Hansgeorg Schmeiser. He has received recognition at several competitions and participated in flute masterclasses in Payerbach and Fiss, Austria, working with internationally renowned teachers including Hansgeorg Schmeiser, Pierre-Yves Artaud, Felix Renggli, Gottfried Pokorny, Anders Ljungar-Chapelon, Kersten McCall, and Robert Stallman.
He is currently Principal Flute of Prague Philharmonia and, since 2013, has also served as Principal Flute of the Orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague. He is a member of the Belfiato Quintet, recipient of the Czech Chamber Music Society Award and the Henri Tomasi Prize at the competition in Marseille. With Belfiato, which has celebrated its twentieth anniversary, Reiprich has recorded four studio albums released by Supraphon. The ensemble’s most recent album, featuring music by Karel Husa, was released in autumn 2025.
Oto Reiprich also collaborates with the Czech Sinfonietta and, from 2011 to 2023, appeared as guest Principal Flute with the Czech Philharmonic. As a soloist, he has performed with ensembles including the State Philharmonic Košice and Prague Philharmonia, with which he also appeared in a duo alongside internationally acclaimed flautist Emmanuel Pahud. Reiprich is a sought-after chamber musician and in recent years has also been developing his career as a teacher.
