Dvořák. Brahms

In its 33rd season, the Chamber Music Series has chosen Musical (Dis)Friendships as its leitmotif. The opening concert, held before a completely sold-out audience at the Profesní dům, introduced one of the best-known friendships in classical music: that between Antonín Dvořák and Johannes Brahms.

Dvořák’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 87 opened the programme, performed by the Dvořák Piano Quartet. In the second half, the audience greeted Johannes Brahms’s Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34 with enthusiastic applause. The performance also featured Prague Philharmonia violinist Hana Kubisová.
