Prague Philharmonia Opens Its 33rd Season with Violinist Blake Pouliot

On 4 September, we opened our 33rd concert season at the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum. Under the baton of Music Director and Chief Conductor Emmanuel Villaume, the orchestra was joined by Canadian violinist Blake Pouliot, making his Czech debut on this occasion, and pianist Stanislav Gallin.

The programme brought together Bohuslav Martinů’s Sinfonietta La Jolla, Barber’s Violin Concerto and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. In doing so, it continued the successful American chapter of Prague Philharmonia, which culminated in a performance at the iconic Carnegie Hall, bringing its energy back to Prague.
